well I get to school today and my X-Best Friend is mad at me and has told the whole world about it! I supposedly told the band director that we rolled his house! So I went to him and told on myself! UMMMMM how about not! I am not that dumb! LOL So she is mad at me for this! I am in trouble at home and a bunch of her friends are mad at me too! A BAD WEEK!

Well today was a great day NOT! Ok if you read the blod before this that was the start of my bad week but I am way past that! Today I got into toble for rolling the band dirctors house! It was really bad cuz my parents don't aprove of this and I did it anyway! I am not sure what my punishment will be but I know It will probly be bad! I know I am no longer alowed to hang out with my best friend because of this so I guess i will have to make new friends! So this has been a great week! LOL Hope yours was better! Ok I need some help! My two close friends are now dating and I think it is weird! We have all 3 been friends since freshman year and now things are weird. I can since tension between me and my friend Amanda and it is not good. I think the reason I am feeling this way is because I think I like the guy she is dating! WHAT SHOULD I DO?? Let me know! THE MASK

This is a poem I read and then had to wright an essay about.
THE POEM
Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872-1906)
We Wear the Mask
WE wear the mask that grins and lies,
It hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,—
This debt we pay to human guile;
With torn and bleeding hearts we smile,
And mouth with myriad subtleties.
Why should the world be over-wise,
In counting all our tears and sighs?
Nay, let them only see us, while
We wear the mask.
We smile, but, O great Christ, our cries
To thee from tortured souls arise.
We sing, but oh the clay is vile
Beneath our feet, and long the mile;

THE ESSAY
The poem “We Were the Mask” by Paul Laurence Dunbar talks about people wearing masks to hide their true feelings. This is very misleading because people hide their feelings with body language.
A smile can hide what is truly inside. Sometimes when we smile we are hiding behind a mask. We want people to think that everything is ok when it really is not.
We do not express our true feelings because we do not want people to know what our true feelings are. We hide or feelings in public but when we are alone we express our true feelings to God. We hide behind a mask.
We mislead people when we hide behind a mask. We make them think that everything is ok when this is not always true. Unless we express what is truly inside people do not know how we truly feel. When people ask if everything is ok and we nod our heads and say yes even though this is not always the case it is very misleading. We mislead people daily.
We use our body language to hide our true feelings and mislead people. We are afraid that if we take the mask off people will see how we truly are and will not like us. Therefore we wear the mask to fool people.
